Mantic Games has officially launched the Kickstarter for _The Umbrella Academy: The board game. New game will put players in control of a member of the Umbrella Academy while trying to stop several comic book villains, including Hazel and Cha Cha, and The White Violin. The players will move on the board, using the cards they have in the hand to eliminate the dangers of each location or collecting new letters. Each villain has its own victory conditions, configuring an explosive final phase in which players try to save the villain's world. The heroes also have unique skills, but occasionally they have to deal with fights between families and other complications that prevent them from working together as a team.
Mantic Games has a solid history of adapting several franchises of comics to board games. Hellboy: The board game is considered one of the best adaptations of comic book board games.
